Choosing a garage door is a decision for years. The two most popular types – sectional and roller – differ not only in appearance but above all in functionality and price. As an authorised Wiśniowski partner, we help clients choose the ideal model.
Sectional doors – classic and versatile
Sectional doors are by far the most popular choice among single-family homeowners. They consist of horizontal panels (segments) that slide under the garage ceiling when opening.
Advantages of sectional doors:
- Excellent thermal insulation – panels filled with polyurethane foam (Uw down to 1.0 W/m²K)
- Wide choice of patterns, colours and embossments
- Option of built-in pedestrian doors and windows
- Quiet operation thanks to the guide rail system
Roller doors – compact solution
Roller doors are the ideal solution when there is no space under the garage ceiling. The shutter rolls up onto a shaft placed in a box above the garage opening.
Advantages of roller doors:
- Space saving – they don’t take up ceiling space
- Installation possible even with low lintel
- Lightweight construction and fast opening
- Lower price compared to sectional doors
Which solution to choose?
If you care about maximum thermal insulation and have a garage attached to the house – go for a sectional door. If the garage is detached and space and budget savings matter – a roller door will be an excellent choice.
